Essential Gear for a Triathlon

Preparing for a new triathlon adventure? Triathlons consist of swimming, cycling, and running. If you are new at this sport, starting with a sprint or mini triathlons is recommended; once you build expertise, you can do Ironman triathlons.

Like all high-performance sports, triathlons require specific nutritional preparation so your body can adequately perform during the event and avoid any health scares. But just like you need to prepare your body within months of anticipation, you also need the proper gear to succeed at this event.

1. Triathlon Gear

Wear tri shorts and a tri top. Also, wear the appropriate running shoes. People mistakenly wear regular running shoes, leading to cramps and leg problems after the event. Search for the proper high-performance running shoes that adequately shape your feet.

2. Bike Gear

You will need a bike carrier for your car to transport your bike, already built and ready to use. Also, remember your bike shoes: clipped or SPD bike shoes. But always remember, safety comes first; use your cycling helmet.

3. Swim Gear

Use swim goggles to reduce sun glare and protect from ocean saltwater for comfort and safety. Another important piece is your wetsuit, also known as a tri suit. It would be best if you got used to your wetsuit before you use it. When you look for your wetsuit is important to find the perfect fit and the one that molds to your body.
