Five Steps to Sublimation Printing with dasFlow

Have you ever had a favorite shirt with a cool design on it that faded a little too quickly? Or a t-shirt with a picture on it that started to crack and peel after just a couple of washes? With sublimation printing you can obtain cool designs or pictures without worrying about it fading, cracking, or peeling.

Sublimation is a process where a unique dye is used to transfer design images from a solid to a gaseous state on any suitable material. The difference between sublimation printing however is that the dye skips the liquid step by going straight from a solid to a gas. This creates an advantage for the design to absorb into the material instead of laying on top of it. At dasFlow we use this process to create our high quality, custom sublimation apparel

Step 1: You send us a custom design, or we help create a design that you would like to have on your apparel.

Step 2: Your custom design will be printed onto a sheet of high release paper using our special sublimation dye.

Step 3: The clothing fabric is laid onto a printed sheet and your artwork is then absorbed into the fabric using a heat press. (this is where the ink and material turn from a solid to a gas).

Step 4: Once heat is removed, the pores of the material are opened, and the ink can successfully permeate into the fibers to lock permanently into place.

Step 5: Your custom fabric is then cut and sewn together to create your brand new custom sublimated items!

Sublimation printing is becoming more and more popular due to its ability to keep colors and images vibrant for a long time while making the clothing more durable and easy to customize.
